Air-Bryd: new system for odors mitigation

Special or multiple step types of equipment are the answer to the most complex and unusual emission problems, determined by peculiar physical-chemical characteristics, type of emission process or location of the source of emission and surroundings. This type of equipment is the result of an in-depth knowledge as regards single treatment systems, which are re-designed in view of a synergy, to offer significant abatement efficiency rates while minimizing managerial expenses and by-products.

This is how Air-Bryd was invented, as an odors mitigation solution absolutely innovative because it includes 3 different technologies: biological scrubber, chemical-physical filter and system of olfactometric refining.

These technologies, which have been used already and tested one by one in various applications with very satisfactory results, combine together with the help of biological products, in order to treat whatever odorous component.

Designing a multiple step equipment

The ability in designing a multiple step equipment consists in knowing how to handle wisely every unit performance in order to optimize the following abatement steps. The combination of such different technologies allows overcoming the limits of each one of them, in order to widen their range of action and move forward toward sustainability.

For instance, uniting air filtering chemical-physical properties with those of a biological scrubber allows having the equipment operational already during the start-up phase, or during the time-period when microorganisms are adapting themselves to the new conditions, thus remedying to possible conditions that make them “suffer” due to unfavorable environmental conditions.

Biological process

Biological equipment in itself is ideal for the treatment of particularly critical emissions of pollutants (hydrogen sulphide or ammonia), generated in some given environments, such as wastewaters cleaning plants.

Besides, the biological process residues produced can go directly to purification tanks, as they do not contain any substance incompatible with active sludge.

Microorganisms used are harmless from the point of view of human health and environment, not being pathogenic and being instead safe, not genetically modified and belonging to the Class of Biological Risk of Level 1.

Chemical-physical process

The chemical-physical equipment, due to its “on-off” operation, is not affected by any variation in the effluent within the project limits and, together with the third step process, becomes very effective as regards the “absorption” of possible peaks (actually taking place immediately), which gives the biological equipment time to adapt itself to new work conditions.

Olfactometric refining process

The osmogenic barrier working as olfactometric refining equipment allows “cleansing” odoriferous molecules left, without introducing chemical substances or by-products in the environment.

The selected products, diluted with water, are certified and absolutely harmless from the point of view of chemical and biological risks, having practically no environmental impact.

Combination of 3 steps

The combination of three steps – biological, chemical-physical and refining – constituting the equipment guarantees altogether increased abatement efficiencies, while allowing for replacement times of the filtering media that are longer than standard 8.000 hours, typical of a dry scrubber.

Air-Bryd thus not only allows reducing maintenance and disposal costs, but also having a lower impact on the environment by avoiding the production of waste.

Advantages of Air-Bryd

  • Innovation
  • Sustainability
  • Compactness
  • Versatility

Innovation does not consist in simply setting up three types of equipment in a sequence, but in supplying a complete solution where every process integrates itself into the others to become one single process. This approach has allowed offering compact layout and simple management, as there is only one control board.

This type of equipment may be completed with a set of sensors for the continuous monitoring of process parameters and through an Internet connection under remote control.
